industry Why Linktree cancelled sex workers

The biggest "link in bio" website just declared war on sex workers. Find out what models need to do now!

Linktree banned sex workers
Linktree doesn't like adult creators

Linktree is a well known "link in bio" platform, that pioneered the concept of linking out from social networks, such as instagram. With its URL redirect service, that is used by many sex workers to link their OnlyFans, Fansly or other websites and escort services the platform was popular in the adult entertainment industry.

Linktree banned sex workers

This came to a sudden stop in earl 2022 as the website started to block creators and restrict their profiles, even for paying models. While unexpected the platform clarified that adult services, especially those that happen in the real world, have always been banned on Linktree and the rules now only get enforced strictly.

While the short term impact caused many fans to not be able to find creators profiles and follow them, the long term consequence is more daunting as models not only need to find an alternative but this may set a precedent for other services to follow.

Where adult models can go now

Fortunately there are still many similar websites that offer similar services as Linktree and models will find a new "link in bio" home quickly. However the landscape for adult creators may get more limited as other services start to restrict and ban them following the example Linktree set.

As well on xswipe.co models can use similar features with an extended feed and promotion methods that seamlessly replace linktree and its products.
